Haircut Horror!

Hello Everybody,

For a long time now, I have had long hair and I have always sort of kept it the same style; minimal layers and to chin length pieces at the front, but recently I have been getting very bored with my hair. I feel it is just a extremely long brown mop. I love it for school because when I pull it back in a high ponytail, it is very long but other then that I feel it is kinda useless.

After much deliberation I have decided on a new style. Why the deliberation you may ask? Well, I sort of have a fear of hairdressers. I have my fair share of hairdresser stories including the time a certain hairdresser cut my hair crooked and way to short; literally about 3 inches shorter then I asked (a big deal for me). Since this incident, my haircuts have been extremely far and few which for my hair anxiety it’s good, but for my poor long brown hair the split ends can tend to take over paired with the frizz :/

So, I’ve booked an appointment and I’m going. I’m going to get it trimmed so all the dead ends can be banished from my head and I am going to get a lot more layers put in and my hair thinned a bit because it is super thick at the moment. Meaning my hair will be a lot more voluminous and it will bring out my natural curl more (yay!).

I’ll keep you updated on my thoughts on my new do when I get it all done.

I’m sort of excited for such a change 🙂

Wind In My Hair And Sun At My Feet

IMG_5723

Hello,

I’ve spent the past (almost) week up at the coast and despite a rainy start, it has been absolutely fabulous. My days have been filled with strolls and swims on the beach, shopping, drinking ice tea, reading (Love, Rosie), watching TV whilst being able to look to my left and see the waves rolling in (etc).

I have had makeup free days and the sea salt has performed miracles for my skin and hair. I can say and I quote from my friend Ains “I’m just letting the sea do it’s thing.”

Despite the melting heat here in Oz on the coast; some days have been uncomfortably sweaty and humid, but I still do enjoy having the literal wind in my hair and sun at my feet.

I really think everyone needs to just get away and chill every once in a while. Now this is hard for me because I like going to places where everyday I am doing something new, I am not a big fan of just purely relaxing around so, typically I can’t stay at the coast longer then a week, but a week is a perfect amount of time from some R&R.

Whats your favourite ways to relax?

Love Jess xx

Style Steal- Lily Collins

Hello Everybody!

In the recent weeks, I have found myself scrolling few various blogs and hashtags in hunt for inspiration; style wise. I was always stuck on a handful of bloggers and celebrities to find inspiration from, for my everyday makeup and general style. I found myself getting  bored of literally wearing the same playsuit everyday, along with the same hairstyle (side plait) and the same makeup- which honestly I was never happy with. As I would classify myself as young, my makeup skills haven’t fully developed and I haven’t learnt all the tricks and tips of makeup. I was doing the same look over and over, which to me, made me look powdery and not fresh faced (which I wanted to be). I watched multiple Youtube tutorials on various ways to apply makeup and tried multiple different brands, but was left with the same result. Now, whenever I asked others, they would say my makeup was well done and looked good- but honestly, I never liked how it came out.

So, back to the point of this post. Whilst I was on the hunt for new people to draw inspiration off, I found a trailer for the movie ‘Stuck In Love’. This movie has various good actors in it, including Lily Collins. I have known about Lily Collins for a while, but for some reason never looked into her style. So, I began my hashtag and blog stalking of the beautiful Lily Collins and began to absolutely fall in love with everything about her style.

Lily, is probably most commonly known (besides her acting, obviously) for her eyebrows. They are truly amazing #eyebrowgamestrong. I have totally fallen for, not only Lily’s style but her hair and makeup as well. She always looked fresh-faced and her hair always looks fabulous- along with her effortless and amazing style, which always leaves her looking beautiful (which she naturally is, obviously). So, today I thought I would share some of my favourite Lily looks with you. I have pasted the images below. Enjoy!!
