Bedroom Christmas Decorating

Hey Everyone,

Recently I got a little excited for Christmas and totally decked out my room for the Festive Season. So today I thought I would show you guys how I decorated my room!

Firstly, I put this cute little silver Christmas Tree on my bedside table and decorated it with simple and small decorations. I found these cute little present decorations-so I just hung them around the tree evenly. I also found this mini-angel from a Christmas Container I own- so I graced the top of the tree with it.

Secondly, I put some fairy lights up. I wrapped one red set around the rail of my curtains. Having them near the curtains creates the nicest atmosphere. I also hung some sets around my bookshelf. I think the lights make my room look really really beautiful and also it makes my room all cosy and pretty at night.

I also hung up some cute stockings around the room- they have bears on them! I hung one from another set of shelves I have in my room; off the corner. I hung the other one off some tinsel I had wrapped around a canvas in my room. I think having stockings in your room perfectly adds to the Christmas atmosphere.

To add even more to the Christmas Theme, I got some battery powered sparkly candles and a Crackling Fire and Cinnamon Spice Diffuser from Air Wick. These candles came in a pack of six for $6 from Crazy Clarks (or some cheap shop) however they are good quality. The already come with batteries, all you have to do is turn them on. I think these are absolutely perfect for the Christmas Season and also they are really safe because they are battery powered- not fire. Okay guys, this diffuser is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It literally makes my room smell like Christmas! Like it Christmas had a distinctive smell- this is what it would be. It fills the whole room with the amazing smell of Crackling Fire and Cinnamon Spice and I love it. I just keep it on my desk and it fills my room with the most amazing scent. I highly recommend this product!

On top of everything, I have randomly placed some other Christmasy things around my room. I stuck this santa hat to my bathroom door because it looked boring without any decoration. I think this looks so cute! I also have placed this Santa statue on top of my selves for extra detail.

Wrap Gingerbread mixture in cling wrap

Leave for AT LEAST 1 Hour in the fridge (can be made 2 days in advance)

Pre-Heat oven to 150 degrees (celsius)

Remove from fridge and sprinkle flour over a clean surface

Roll out dough to your preferred thickness (½ cm- 1cm)

Cut shapes in mixture and place on Baking Paper on the Baking Tray

Leave at least 1/2cm between cookies (for spreading reasons)

Place in oven for 10-25mins- until golden brown

Remove from oven and TA DA!! You have made your own Gingerbread! You can decorate them if you wish- but I prefer them plain! These Gingerbreads are so light and delicious- They are sure to be a hit this Christmas!

Haul!

Hey Everyone,

Recently, I have done a cheeky bit of shopping. I have brought clothes as well as some accessories and bath items. So today I thought I would do a HAUL for your guys. Now just to put this out there- I am in no way trying to show off about what I have purchased. I just want to show you guys what I like to buy and wear.

Firstly, I picked up two new pairs of sunglasses. The first pairs style I believe is called “Clubmaster”. They are just plain black but are rimmed down the bottom with silver. Personally I find the style “Wayfarers” don’t really suit me, but I think these do due to the thinner piece in the middle. I honestly don’t know why the piece in the middle makes such a difference; but it does- for myself anyway. I got these ones from “Cotton On” for $10.00. The second pair I got are a round lensed pair. I have been looking for a pair like this for quite a while now so when I saw these, I loved them. They have the tortoise shell look on the temple of the glasses, so they are very versatile. I got these from a store called Mascotte at my local shopping centre, on sale from $30.00 to $10.00.

 Image

Secondly, I got this cream handbag from the same shop as the sunglasses- Mascotte. I really like this bag because it was very classic, and will be a staple in my wardrobe. I would say this style of bag is one of the most common. It has the short handles and the round (barrel) shape of the bag. I think due to the colour and shape it could be worn with a casual outfit (Blouse and Shorts) or even like a nice dress at night time. This bag was down from $100.00 to $40.00.

Okay guys, this next item has a story behind it. So about 4 weeks ago I went shopping with my mum and tried on this playsuit with a few others from Glassons; at the time it was $50. So anyway I didn’t up end up buying it because instead I got a denim one. Then a few days after going out shopping I went on the Glassons website and saw it was then reduced to $30- and I didn’t really think much of it at the time. Anyways last Thursday, I went back to the same Glassons, and found the same Playsuit I had tried on 4 weeks earlier (same size and everything) at the reduced price. So I was so excited and loved it so much I just HAD to buy it. I think this is really a versatile Playsuit because of the dark navy almost black colour and the loose style- which could be worn in the Summer with a crop tee or in the Winter with High Socks and a jumper.

Image

On Friday, I went to Sportsgirl and got this top that I had had my eye on for a while. I think it is so cute. It is a simple crop top with Daisies printed on it. Now if you know one thing about me; it is that my all time favourite flowers are Daisies- I call them happy flowers. Anyways, this top looks really nice with skater skirts (I wear it with my Denim skater skirt and yellow one) or Playsuits (I wear it with my Denim one and my new Navy one). You could also wear this shirt with shorts or even with a maxi-skirt. This shirt was $34.99- which I didn’t think was too bad for the quality and that I loved it so much.

Image

Another top I got from Sportsgirl is another crop- but it is long sleeved. It has simple navy and white stripes all over the shirt. I have been looking for a top like this for a while and when I got it on sale from $34.99 to $13.00- I was pretty happy. This top really goes with anything- shorts, skirts, playsuits etc. I like this top also because it is a longer crop- so it is more versatile.

 Image

I also got this simple black bow midi-ring from Colette. I love midi-rings at the moment and I also love bows so this was the perfect combination. This ring was $3.95 and will go with everything- so I am excited to wear it.

 Image

Lastly, I picked up two things from Lush. I got their Limited Edition Snow Fairy Body Wash ($9.95) and their Father Christmas Bath Ballistic ($6.50). They both smell so amazing- like Christmas. Snow Fairy is extremely sweet and sugary where as the Bath Ballistic has more of a zingy and fruity scent- and it makes your bath water green!!!! I love Lush and these products and am planning to go and get more Bath Ballistics this weekend (hopefully). I am going to do a full review on all my Lush Christmas items in the coming weeks- which will involve more in depth explanations.

That concludes my haul today- hope you all enjoyed me posting about my recent shopping!

BLEMISH 101

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to do a post on blemishes, acne and pimples. This post will cover what I use day to day to reduce the amount of blemishes I get and what I put on when I get bad blemishes.

Firstly, I find washing my face daily is VERY important. To wash off the dirt from the day and clean out my pores. I wash my face with “Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash” from The Body Shop. I love this product because, it has seaweed in it so it calms the skin and reduce redness. Also it cleans my face and takes away the bad stuff and leaves the good. I wash my face once a day but sometimes twice. I find if I over wash my face it will get worse because I am washing off the good oils. I pay $18.95 for this product in Australia but I know it is cheaper in America and Canada because I got some while I was over there.

 Image

Secondly, I moisturise my skin with “Anti-Aging Rosehip Oil” from Om She or “Argan Face Oil” from Swisse. Both of these products help my skin in the reduction of redness of my skin. When my mum showed these products to me I was sceptical because they were oil. And I thought, well putting oil on my face will make it worse, but I was very wrong. These oils are GOOD oils and will help your skin, and if you have oily skin it will reduce the oils that form in your skin. This is because you are giving your skin the moisture it needs- so it doesn’t have to produce its own.

Image

When I get particularly bad blemishes I will put Skin Friendly Antiseptic or Tea Tree on it. This will directly hit the pimple, dry it out, and it will eventually reduce. However don’t do this all the time as you will find it will dry out your skin and make it very flaky.

Some ways that aren’t directly related to the skin to help reduce blemishes are….

-Wash your bed sheets and pillow regularly.

You wouldn’t believe how much bacteria is held within your bed. And putting your face on it every night won’t help your skin at all. So I suggest washing your sheets very regularly and also washing the pillow itself to clean out all the bacteria.

 -Clean your phone screen

Your phone screen goes through a lot in a day from being in a bag to a pocket to on a table and then against your head. So it is obvious how many germs the screen can carry. So I suggest cleaning your phone screen just with a wipe regularly so you can keep it clean and not risk (when putting it against your head) causing blocked pores.

-Exercise and Eat Clean and Drink Water

Living a healthy lifestyle will help your skin so much. Eating healthy and drinking lots of water will clean out your body thus clean your skin. It will flush out the bad things from your body and give you good = pimple reduction :). Also sweat actually helps the skin so exercising is a big plus!!

I think the most important thing to remember with acne and blemishes though, it that everyones skin is different. One of my best friends uses “Proactiv” because she finds natural products don’t work for her- and thats fine. Just because the natural and low chemical products work for my skin doesn’t mean it will work for everyones in the world. You just have to try different products and see what works for you and your skin type.

I hope this post has helped some of you guys out there 🙂

Dungarees

Hello again everyone!

So, I am going to talk about my newest fashion obsession. And that is…… Dungarees/ Playsuits/Jumpsuits. I have a spotty cotton pair of these and also a denim pair and I absolutely wear them everywhere. They are super comfy and easy to create into a casual or formal outfits for summer or winter.

Personally I wear mine with either a crop tee, singlet or an ordinary T-shirt. They are so versatile. I normally pair mine with my low top- off coloured white converse. But you can pair them with sandals, boots or even heels- for a dressier occasion. You can even pair them with tights or knee high socks for the winter and put a jumper underneath.

The only issue I have with them is that I have trouble finding perfect pairs. This is because, I am quite tall and many brands make them for short girls- so I have to get bigger sizes- which makes them baggy. However I have found recently many shops are making them more to suit taller women.

I highly recommend in investing in a pair of Dungarees. I wear my denim ones  more then my spotty ones just because they go with with more things- but it’s your choice. I love them and will be buying more very soon.

Catch Up

Hello Everyone!

Wow- what an absolutely hectic term it has been so far. I have been so busy with study, exams, and assignments that I haven’t updated in ages! It has truly been a crazy past month. So let me tell you what’s been happening.

Firstly, I went back to school (YAY!) it was so great to see all my friends again. But the downer about school is all the assessment. I have been studying hard because this week is ridiculously hectic. I mostly have three exams a day! So I have been super stressed out- but it is still manageable.

Secondly, I went to the One Direction concert, OMG! They were absolutely amazing and 5 Seconds Of Summer were their opening act- and I love them, so it was great to see them as well. I also went to the Beyoncè concert which was perfection! Beyoncè is such an amazing performer and she is absolutely gorgeous!

And between all of this I have been catching up with friends and also reading “The Fault In Our Stars” and can I just say, I love this book, it is so amazing and John Green is an excellent writer. If you know one thing about me, it is that I highly dislike reading novels- and I don’t know why. I loved reading when I was younger, but I don’t like it that much now. So this is a really good book if it has kept me reading it. And thank you to the amazing girl who lent me the book (you know who you are xx)I massively appreciate it.

So how have your past couple of months been? Hope you guys liked this catch up! Later, I will be posting about my new fashion obsession!

Talk super soon!!
